The Fancy Taps Foundation working with DanceYYC to & perform Fancy Footwork Dance Project Presents: To Build A Home

The Fancy Taps Foundation is proud to announce the launch of the Fancy Footwork Dance Project, an inspiring new initiative that celebrates rhythm, creativity, and community through the art of tap dance.

In partnership with DanceYYC, this vibrant performance will take place on March 1, 2026, at cSPACE in Calgary, Alberta. The showcase will feature talented dancers from across the city, uniting music, movement, and storytelling to uplift youth and highlight the power of artistic expression.

Rooted in the Foundation’s mission to empower young people through dance and support their mental well-being, the Fancy Taps Dance Project is more than a performance — it’s a movement that builds confidence, connection, and joy through rhythm. Founded by M’Kayla Kongnetiman, a Calgary-based dance artist and community leader, the initiative continues her vision of making tap dance accessible to all and celebrating its rich cultural heritage.

As we prepare for this exciting performance, Fancy Taps Foundation is calling on our community to get involved! We are currently seeking sponsors, dancers, volunteers, and community partners to help make this event a success. Whether you’re an artist, educator, business, or simply a lover of the arts, there’s a place for you in this growing rhythm-driven movement.
